Stafford & Fremont

This is a small piece I did a few months ago.  One thing I was trying to do is paint the effect of brick with as few brush strokes as possible.

Wild Persimmons #1 2012

                                                                               SOLD

Years ago I painted wild persimmons every year for four or five years in a row. Then life kept getting in the way for the last half a dozen or so years and by the time I could get to them the season had passed. This year I hit the season at prime time, so there will be a lot of persimmon paintings.  Hope they don't bore you.

Switched palettes for awhile, mostly it's a old masters palette, which has a warm black, a cool black, a earthy yellow, and a earthy red.  I'm trying this rather then switching genre.

A Tom Jones Chili Bowl

This is a bowl we got from a Potter we have been seeing for the last three winters down in the Gulf. I really like his work.

Been doing under paintings with alkyd paints this week. It lets me concentrate more on the color in the final painting.
